For Nil Consideration [FNC] is Dave Brooks', first novel. The story is based on the true life events that almost destroyed a new family. The story is set in the fictional Sheraton Moss estate on Teesside. FNC, as told through the eyes of the daughter of Dawn and Jack Evans, takes the reader on an emotional rollercoaster.

"The divorce was now looming.  Mum was trying to remain friends with Dad, despite his obnoxious behaviour.  I think it was an attempt, certainly on Mum's side of things, to try and make their separation as painless as possible for Mike and me.  Little did any of us realise at the time just how awful things would become..."
                                                                                                                                                                                                                                            FNC - Chapter 1

FNC follows the trials and tribulations of a distraught teenager, as she comes to terms with the divorce of her parents and the horrific events that surround it. She struggles desperately as problem after problem bombards her, not only does she have her family issues to deal with but she also has the residents of the Sheraton Moss estate to contend with.

"Gary had started to come around quite a lot.  I still wasn't very comfortable with him around me."
                                                                                                                                                                                                                                              FNC - Chapter 3

As Gary and Dawn endeavour to make a new life for themselves, away from Jack's influence, they seem to be blighted at every turn and there is nothing anyone can do to help them.

FNC, is the first in a new series of books based around the fictional Sheraton Moss estate in Teesside, and is guaranteed to have the reader turning page after page desperate to find out what happens to the unfortunate northern family.
